Everybody Wants Connections–Youth with Developmental Disabilities as Members of Community
Patricia Vaughan Brogan began her career in Syracuse, NY as a special education teacher, central office liaison, and champion of inclusive practices. Later, her career took her to Ohio where she served as a director and assistant superintendent for the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Over the past 11 years Pat has been serving as Director of Special Education for the Pittsford Central School District (Rochester, NY), a nationally ranked school district. At PCSD her work has focused on increasing participation of students with disabilities as full members of the caring school community, promoting Universal Design for Learning, and improving vocational and transitional opportunities for students. Pat holds degrees in Special Education and Administration, and is currently enrolled in the Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership at the University of Rochester.
